Traffic Monitoring Made Easy

Cloud Infrastructure as a Service

Abstract

A mobile sensing web application which helps to track the current traffic status of a city.

Developed an application in J2EE to provide Cloud Infrastructure as a Service environment using AWS Toolkit.

It supports on demand resource allocation, auto scalability, load balancing, sensor virtualization, monitoring, metering and billing for mobile sensor cloud resources.

The application also collects traffic data (Eg. Average Speed, Status) from mobile sensors and provides it as a service to users.

The hub collects data from all sensors and helps in building a sensor network. This data is used to help end-users track the current traffic status. An end-user from one network can also track traffic status from other networks through hub.

A seperate interface for the admin to manage sensors, manage users, manage billing services, view monitoring services and view current sensors and hubs.

Stack: Java, Amazon EC2, AWS Toolkit, ELB, Servlet, JSP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap.
